Dear Polyester,

I'm writing to tell you it's over between us.

Trust me, this is harder for me than it is for you. You were easy to have a longterm relationship with, but the more I get to know you the more I realized that our values no longer align. We're moving in two different directions and I have to let you go.

You were fun in my youth, easy to care for and wrinkle-free. Your colors were vibrant and stain-resistant. For a girl on a budget...you were the cheap date I needed.

I just never realized how destructive our relationship was.

Let's be honest here, polyester is just a fancy name for plastic. You are cheap because you are plastic...and you are going to be hanging around FOREVER.

You take and take and take...oil and gas reserves, massive amounts of water, and the health of textile workers. Dye workers report higher incidences of cancers and lung disease than the general population.

All you give back is microplastics, toxic dye pollution, and a ginormous carbon footprint.

Polyester, you are bad...and I was bad for enabling you.

Now, I am GOOD!

I haven't committed myself to a new love yet. I'm looking for something more natural and less fake. I'm "dating around" to find the perfect fit for me, but so far I have been wooed by many!

Moving on without you,

GOOD AURA
